Hill Country Beauty…
by Bob-O on Jun.09, 2011, under Photography
I love the Texas hill country and the quiet that comes with going off the beaten path (or paved highway). I guess by ‘highway’ I mean Interstate, but out and down Farm to Market roads there is alot to be seen – especially around the Guadalupe river.
There are places you could go and sit for hours and watch the river and listen to…well; nothing actually. Just the wind, birds, and bugs and watch the reflections in the water dance around.
I miss the quiet where you can hear nothing but the sound of the water rushing over the rocks. No iPods, traffic noise, sirens or hustle and bustle. Just wind and water.
Heave a big sigh as the weekend is over and it’s time to finish the morning coffee and run off to work and earn some gas money for my next little excursion with the camera.
Thank you for stopping by I sincerely appreciate it. Take care of yourselves and find that place where you can go and be quiet for awhile.

Ice Garden?…
by Bob-O on Jan.11, 2011, under Photography
The sun came out today (yay!) and I finally was out and about (meetings and things) and got to play around with the camera a little and I wasn’t sure what I would blog about today until I stumbled upon a curious sight.
Seems someone forgot to turn the sprinkler off. But then again, it was under 40 degrees outside and wasn’t sure why the folks were waterin’? With the wind blowin’ and all it froze in the tree making for an interesting sight.
I also found an interesting crossing to photograph for the fun of it. It was pretty cold out and though I didn’t get out as much as I would have liked with the meetings and appointments at least I managed to get an interesting shot or two.

The day has wound down . Now time to relax and look over some photographs and enjoy the rest of the evening.

Oceans…
by Bob-O on Jan.24, 2010, under Photography
Ever stand on a beach and look out over the ocean and try to fathom how really, really large it is?
But alas, I’m usually too busy watching the sun sink down to the other side of the world making it morning somewhere else and also thinking “Panama” is out there somewhere. I more or less grew up there. But that’s another blog.
Looking off the balcony and watching people on the beach I began to realize how kind of small we really are compared to things. I closed my eyes with the sea breeze blowing across my face listenting to the waves and drifted off in to a really nice nap.

Fear of Water…Not…
by Bob-O on Oct.25, 2009, under Children, Family, Photography
My grandson has absolutely no fear of water and will dive in if not watched. My other grandson was terrified of water at first and didn’t get use to it until 5 or so.

I remember the ocean scaring me to death. Hunter here just walks right in – splashes – dumps water on his head and laughs. He’s amazed by it. Hand him a garden hose and he’s fine. They grow so fast and so much to enjoy. Hug your kids today – they grow up very fast and then they’ll be gone tomorrow (hopefully *wink*).

The Other Side…
by Bob-O on Aug.29, 2009, under Photography
I like tunnels. Or at least the perception of tunnels. The pattern that is created by looking THROUGH things…like the triangles at the park. I don’t know what the appeal is. Maybe it’s the other side. Or setting goals.

I just enjoy the pattern created by some things. I mean looking under this bridge makes me want to skip a rock or just sit and watch the water reflect off the bottom.

And finally the hallway at the state capital in Austin, Texas. Another example of lining things up I suppose.

That last photograph may be hard to see. I’ll keep at it. – I’m learning more every day. (Like I need a new lens *wink* *hint*)

Texas Drought…
by Bob-O on Aug.28, 2009, under Photography
Well they’ve announced that here in Georgetown Texas we are now under water restrictions. I was wondering when they were going to do that because I’ve enjoyed taking pictures in San Gabriel Park.

The above photo was taken just this last June 2009. And here is near the same location today

I’ve Seen Geese hiking the river bed in search of a “swimming hole”.

I sure do miss the river. Maybe it’s because of the construction up and downstream? Guess I’ll have to investigate.
