Georgetown War bird Weekend 2019
On August 4th 2019 the Georgetown Texas Municipal Airport (KGTU) hosted the Georgetown War Bird Weekend where the locally based WWII Bomber PBJ/B-25 “Devil Dog” and the B-17 “Texas Raiders” hosted tours and rides of the two aircraft of the Commemorative Air Force. It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything here as there has been alot going on since my father’s passing. I found that he read a book called “The Shack” and so I read it also. Flying Machines…
I’ve noticed that most of the aircraft around our municipal airport are squeeky clean. I’ve thought about how a 1959 Beechcraft K35 could look as good as it did in the showroom over 50 years ago. And yet, when I see a slightly newer, (1980ish), Canadair CL-600 tucked away in a corner between two buildings – seemingly neglected, it saddens me. I wonder if it’s down for repairs.
